WORKSHOPS

Sign up for these workshops the day of the event (no reservations will be needed or taken). Walk right up to the workshop and wait for an open seat. All materials and tools, as well as volunteers to help solder, will be provided. Be WARNED that there will be hot soldering involved in these workshops. Younger participants must have an adult with them to participate. There will be a small fee to cover our expenses for this workshop.

Simon Game Workshop -- $27

Do you remember the classic Simon game, where you played follow-me with multi-colored lights? You can build this updated version and hone your soldering skills.

TinyCylon Workshop -- $11

The TinyCylon is a multi-mode LED kit, with five LEDs that blink or glow in various patterns. The pattern is selected by a press of the button. The tinyCylon is built around a Atmel ATtiny13 AVR microcotnroller. It is already pre-programmed with multiple LED sequences. Here's a video of the TinyCylon in action!

Lux Spectralis Workshop -- $11

The Lux Spectralis is a deluxe RGB blinky with over 30 flashing, blinking and glowing modes! It has a super-bright red+green+blue LED that is controlled by a pre-programmed microcontroller (Atmel AVR ATtiny13). You can use it as a night-light, a reading lamp, a strobe or just an all-around fun blinker.

Wee Blinky Workshop -- $6

The Wee Blinky kit is an easy-to-solder two (2) LED blinker circuit. This kit makes a great “learn to solder” project.

VibraBOT Workshop -- $6

A VibraBOT is a tiny vibrating fun creature driven by a small motor and battery. You will design and build a VibraBot made from a "hacked" Pager motor, paperclips soldered together for a body, a battery, and some cool decorations to give your VibraBOT it's own personality. Everyone will leave with a working VibraBOT. Participants can take their hand made BOT home to show off to their friends and family. Hint: they are great for entertaining your cat!
